Laura graduated from the highly rated University of Tulsa with a degree in Speech Pathology. In 2003, Laura opened her own Educational practice centered in Soquel working with local schools and families. In 2007, Laura embarked on Educational Therapy for stroke victims at The Cabrillo College Stroke and Disability Learning Center. The Stroke Center presented new educational challenges, which Laura still enjoys with great enthusiasm. Laura leads several sections focusing on skills involving memory, computers, and writing. Over the course of her career, Laura has had the pleasure of teaching hundreds of clients in the Santa Cruz County and has an outstanding reputation with local school districts and their educators.
Laura understands that everyone has a unique view of the world and knows that how each person absorbs information is dependent on his or her perspective. Laura’s personable approach lets her quickly identify the very best teaching methods and allows her to gain student trust so that learning can begin. Laura has developed an easy organization and time management system for students from third grade through high school. Her students use this system to take control of their own daily study routines and thus gain confidence and self-reliance.
